Google Docs & Spreadsheets is a suite of online tools that include a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a presentation program. In addition to importing and exporting Word files, Google Docs allows people to collaborate on the same document in real time.



What Should I Be Able to Do in Google Docs?

To use Google Docs as a student, you should be able to:
  • Access Google Docs
  • Upload Word, PPT, and Excel files into Google Docs
  • Create new word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation documents.
  • Share documents with collaborators. This includes sending partners invitations by email.
  • Add inline citations and bibliographic references to a Google Doc using a citation manager like Zotero.
  • Embed a Google Doc in a Wikispace page so that it can be (1) viewed and / or (2) edited by others.
